I hate change. I always have. This can make life stressful for me because I’ve come to find out that in this life the only thing constant in our lives IS change. I figured it is about time I accept it.
I’m going to be 48 years old in a few weeks. As look back over my life, I see how I’ve changed. Many people wish they were young again and if they had the opportunity to become 18 years old again they’d jump at the chance. Not me! You couldn’t pay me enough to make me go back! Through the different changes in my life, I’ve become a stronger, more condifent, and independent.
The website Beyond the Bend hasn’t been very active over the last two years as I’ve moved onto other things in my life. While it started out being a site for women in mid-life, I am going to change to focus to be about handling change in our lives. Women go through various seasons of life and one of those seasons that keep coming around is the season of change.
How are you handling change in your life? Are you digging in your heals and fighting it every step of the way? Are you embracing it with open arms? Or are you somewhere in between?
Are you getting married? Your life will be full of changes? Expecting a child or grandchild? Wow, will life be different. Are you or someone you love facing an illness or unexpected injury? Did you recently lose a job? These situations will change your life dramitically.
Whatever change you are facing, I pray that you enter this season of your life with courage and expectancy. God promises to work everything in your life out for good…even those changes we are dreading.
Life is what we make it. We can fight change and be miserable or we can embrace it and have a positive attitude on the new journey we are traveling. The choice is up to us!
